On the 30th November, AD (Audio Doughnuts) will celebrate 2 years of parties and releases with their biggest party to date…With legends, new talents and some expected very special guests. Taking over Fire and Lightbox, as part of The Upfront Project, this night is set to be a memorable one.
Audio Doughnuts continues its descent into London’s colourful musical landscape with a night completely un-genre-fineable. Over 20 acts playing across 3 arches playing music for the sake of music.
8 sell out ‘Presents’ nights later and with over 12,000 people entering through their doors in LDN and Leeds, Audio Doughnuts returns to London, this time with two of the most interesting and exciting brands to be born out of the nations progressive electronic plateau, Audio Doughnuts join record label Civil Music and eclectic beats party Tempo Clash on the 22nd June at Hidden as part of FOUND 2012 for nothing more than a party showcasing what all 3 have to offer!
In the main room we see Civil Music & Audio Doughnuts showcasing a select list of artists from both of their rosters with Drums of Death debuting his live AV lightshow, a vivid divide between upfront house and intense visuals, Darling Farah playing live for the first time ever in the UK launching his new album. A late addition in the shape of Starkey guarantees an exciting and diverse performance (check out his promo mix here). Dèbruit, a man who has remained at the forefront of experimental electronic music for sometime will be playing his full live set, Civil’s beat-smith Om Unit, plus new signing Brassica and XLII. Following up proceedings for Audio Doughnuts comes in the shape of Funky House outfit Funkystepz, most recent releasee Pusherman, Rinse FM’s drive-timer Shox, and Boiler Room favourite TOYC.
In room 2 Tempo Clash takes control with a line up which makes the statement ‘cutting edge’ seem an understatement. UK Hip Hop MC Jehst tops the bill with an exclusive DJ set, Krampfhaft and Micachu (from Micachu & The Shapes) divulge into synth led, unique off-set beats. ‘More Than Me’ producer Eliphino will bring his four-to-the-floor style with an uplifting house, techno and dancefloor set. Rounding things off in Room 2 comes Jon Phonics and Tempo Clash’s awe-inspiring residents Blue Daisy, Kid Kanevil and Offshore plus Om Unit playing for a second time with an alternative set.
As things continue to evolve, Audio Doughnuts has maintained a strong focus on lighting and sound throughout 2012’s parties, Hidden will hold suit with a double-screen projected lightshow in the main room and carefully tweaked sound systems across all 3 arches.

“Having already hosted three of their sold-out eponymous ‘Presents…’ nights in the heart of London, Audio Doughnuts present the fourth – and penultimate event of 2011. As the fast-expanding imprint leads up to their first anniversary on November 25th, this particular event celevrates the release of Audio Doughnuts’ first single from The Fives, ‘What You Do / Hottest By Far’ - available worldwide shortly after the show.
In true Audio Doughnuts style, the night boasts a line-up spanning not only the twisted genome of UK bass music but the fresh, eclectic sounds bursting out of Europe and the US.
Headliners include Tectonic founder and all-round curator of cutting edge bass music, Pinch. The Bristollian will be bringing a typically weighty, inspiringly genre-straddling set to the proceedings. Loefah’s infamous imprint Swamp81 will also be in attendance, represented by their very own Boddika, whose Joy Orbison collaboration ‘Swims’ is presently troubling dancefloors worldwide. House & Funky specialist French Fries - his sound acclaimed as “uncompromising and barking mad – will be representing our friends from across the channel. Thickening the already hefty throng on the bill will be Hyperdub signing and scene favourite Funkystepz, whose refreshing take on the UK funky scene takes strains of playful club music and roughens the edges for the dancefloor.
Alongside this tasteful variety of bass music pioneers, Audio Doughnuts will be presenting some of the homegrown talents that the imprint can call it’s own. Needless to say AD’s most recent signing - The Fives - will be present, bringing their jaw-dropping live set to the main room. Bloggers favourites Korus & Artek, previous highlight Widowmaker, the crowd-pleasing Green Money’s recent co-signings Mista Men and Teeza (the latter also signed with Logan Sama’s 696 imprint) will be keeping the quality high and the adrenaline pumping.
The night, hosted at South East London’s art & music epicentre Corsica Studios, will be decked out with a rib-shaking Funktion-On soundystem and an enrapturing light show across the intimacy of it’s two rooms. With completely free entry for the first 100 guests, and a wallet-friendly door charge of £5 after that before 12am - as with any Audio Doughnuts night - early arrival is a must.
Come and celebrate the penultimate night of 2011, see just what a mark the AD family are leaving on the UK bass music scene and take in the majesty of the first release available from Audio Doughnuts, a burgeoning imprint, and a night inimitably eclectic, unfalteringly exciting and firmly on the pulse…”
